The Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau (Sant Pau) is the dean of Hospital institutions in Spain, providing healthcare public services to people in Barcelona and Catalonia for more than six centuries. The Hospital is a reference in Catalonia in the fields of assistance, education and research. Although its activity is mainly centered in Barcelona it extends through Catalonia and it is a reference center for tertiary and specialized care in highly complex national and international levels. Its healthcare function includes many activities, some of them considered as a reference in its field. Some annual figures are: More than 35,000 hospitalized patients, More than 159,000 emergencies, About 350,000 outpatient visits, Over 75,000 users in day hospital program. The Hospital has 136 day-hospital attendance points, 644 beds and 21 operating rooms. Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau is a University Hospital with a teaching Unit of the Faculty of Medicine at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB - Autonomous University of Barcelona), a Nursing University School. The institution also participates in the specialized health training program and organizes apprenticeships and other training activities. The Hospital is one of the most important Spanish research centers in Healthcare, including the Biomedical Research Institute (IIB). The Hospital de la Santa Creu I Sant Pau is governed by the Board of Trustees of the Fundació de Gestió Sanitària (Health Management foundation), which represents the Government of Catalonia, Barcelona City Council and the Archdiocese of Barcelona.

ASL Avellino is one of the 7 Local Health Agency of the Campania Region. It is a public national health system entity in the province of Avellino with managerial, technical and financial autonomy. Fundació TIC Salut Social is a public agency within the Catalan Ministry of Health founded in 2006 whose aim is to facilitate and promote the development and transformation of health and social care models fostering innovation in the use of ICT. FTSS’s strategy is focused on e-Health and m-Health to improve healthcare processes, in order to ensure conformity with current standards to guarantee interoperability and standardization in IT systems. The Foundation has also the role of “Observatory for e-Health” for the Catalan region, exploring and disseminating e-Health-related projects and use of ICT in the health and social care sectors at both national and international level. FTSS, in collaboration with The Ministry of Health of Catalonia is carrying out the Program for the Promotion and Development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Public Health System, with the aim of guaranteeing the equity, transparency and security of the application of this technology in the healthcare system. The Standards and Interoperability Office works on behalf of the Catalan Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Work, Social Affairs and Families in order to identify and define interoperability standards between information systems. The Standards and Interoperability Office also heads integrations and standardization in the mHealth and mSocial fields, defining controlled vocabularies and communication interfaces. The goal of interoperability is to ensure that all relevant, necessary information is made available for decision making. FTSS is in charge of the development of the Strategic Plan for non-attendance models (Telemedicine): The objective of the Telemedicine Strategic Plan in Catalonia is to define the model of tele-health services identifying the needs of the system and drawing the roadmap for the application of remote services.

Assuta Medical Centres (AMCN) is Israel’s largest and leading private medical services network comprising seven clinics and hospitals across Israel, providing innovative surgeries and diagnostic procedures in all fields of medicine, including cardiology, oncology, gynaecology, urology and more. Assuta provides both inpatient care as well as specialty outpatient care in its outpatient clinics. Assuta Tel Aviv is its flagship hospital. It is one of the largest and most technologically advanced surgical hospitals in Israel, and encompasses a wide variety of surgical specialties e.g. cancer surgery, neurosurgery, cardiothoracic surgery, orthopaedic , gynaecology and urology surgeries, ear nose throat head and neck surgeries, complex plastic surgeries and multi-faced general surgery. More than 42,000 surgical procedures are performed annually, more than half involve major organs, complex procedures and advanced surgical methods. In 2018, there were more than 12,600 older adults, 65+ who had a surgical procedure performed in the Assuta Tel Aviv hospital. The hospital network is completely computerised with integrated administrative and clinical ICT systems. This includes a comprehensive Hospital EMR including referrals, closed loop system (referrals from the EMR and results back to the EMR) for laboratory, imaging, other diagnostic examinations, computerized prescriptions and interface with the Operating Room system. Assuta is one of the few hospitals to provide its patients with digital access to their medical information.
